William was first diagnosed with Stage four High Risk Hepatoblastoma in September of 2021. After one year of a hard fought battle he was declared cancer free in September of 2022, but on March 7th 2024 Williams' parents received the devastating news that it was back. After tests and multiple calls with liver oncologists and Williams previous surgeon at Texas Children's in Houston; It was determined that the best course of action was to start chemotherapy quickly. William will be continuing to undergo chemotherapy even after his upcoming lung surgery to remove his lung tumor. William has a long road ahead of him including possibly losing the ability to be able to do strenuous activities depending on how much lung tissue will have to be removed to give him the best possible outcome of survival of this one in a million cancer.
~2023~
On June 28th, 2023 Colt was taken to the ER for abdominal pain. After a few tests his, and his families life changed forever. Results of the cat scan revealed a mass in his abdomen, he was then admitted to the hospital for further testing. Following a week-long stay, he was released to go home and was scheduled for surgery. Colt was diagnosed with Pheochromoblastoma. He underwent an intensive and risky surgery in July where doctors discovered it had attached itself to his main vein and artery. After a 6.5-hour surgery Colt was transferred to the ICU to start his recovery process. Colt still has a very long and uncertain road ahead of him as we are still learning and navigating his diagnosis. He will have more surgeries ahead and treatments to help reduce and get rid of the remaining cancer in his body.
~JULY 2024~ UPDATE
A note from Colt:
I would like to start off by saying how honored I was to get to be the first recipient of the hunting4hope fundraiser event last year. Thank you to The Folded owl, The Healthy Hub, and many others that helped to make it such a great event. It really meant a lot to me that people I didn't even know took time to help me and my family during my time of need. Because of the donations my mom was able to stay by my side night and day without having to worry about bills. I am very thankful for that. I also got to go see the USS Lexington this summer because of it as well. I have been in remission now since December of 2023 and other than some minor heart issues I am doing well and have regained my strength. Thank you again to everyone that came out and supported such a great cause.
